Raised in Elmira, Connie Deckert started playing golf at 11 years of age and entered her first provincial tournament at 16. She was Runner-up Ontario Junior Champ at 18 and participated in the LPGA Tour at 21. One year later life offered Connie a different direction; she chose to join her father’s Kitchener-based automotive parts company, Motivair Canada Ltd. By age 34, Connie was the president. Indirectly, golf and business began to merge. During this time, she took a short sojourn from golf and opened a travel agency in Waterloo with two other partners. Connie’s interest in travel continues and each year takes a group or two on a golf junket to interesting places.
Varsity Golf Coach
From 2005 to 2011, Connie was the golf coach for the University of Guelph for both the men’s and women’s golf teams, travelling throughout Ontario playing tournaments and ending with the OUA Championships.
Various Golf Tournaments
From 2012-2014, Connie co-chaired the Manulife ProAms at the Manulife Classic. She has also been part of the Junior Achievement Tournament, Fairway & Friends in support of St. Mary’s Hospital, Twitter Tournament, and University of Waterloo Technology Park giving golf tips and participating as the pro in the Beat the Pro on a par 3 hole. Truly outstanding involvement!

Todd has been teaching golf in the KW area for over 20 years, and been a member of the CGTF since 2004. Growing up in a family of competitive golfers he has been playing the game since he was 6 years old, he learned, and continues to learn about the game from his father Gary who is member of Canada’s golf hall of fame.
Good golf shots are the result of a proper pre shot routine, a fundamentally sound setup, and a repeatable golf swing. Golf swings vary according to a person’s body type, age, and athletic ability, there is no perfect swing but rather a work in progress.
Lessons are taught on an individual basis using your ball flight as a starting point. As your instructor it is his responsibility to explain why a ball flies a particular way and then what in the setup or swing needs to be changed to achieve the desired flight.
Because golf can be frustrating lessons are designed to be fun and stress free, which results in a perfect learning environment. As a professional part of Todd’s job is to filter out the “crap” that is perpetuated by an industry designed to confuse, and complicate golf for the average player. The rules of golf and course etiquette are also covered so that players can better enjoy their golfing experiences.
Lesson available. Private, semi-private, family, groups and clinics.
